Medlingua

Terms of Service

Allgemeine Geschäftsbedingungen (AGB)

1.Scope of Application

These General Terms and Conditions govern all contracts between MedLingua Academy GmbH (“Medlingua,” “we,” “us”) and customers (“you,” “participant”) for language courses and related services. By registering for any course or service, you agree to these terms.

2.Registration and Contract Formation

Registration via our website, email, or in person constitutes a binding offer to enter into a contract. The contract is formed upon our written confirmation or upon your first attendance of the course. Medlingua reserves the right to reject any registration without giving reasons.

3.Course Fees and Payment

Full course fees are due before the course begins unless otherwise agreed in writing. Payment may be made by bank transfer or any other payment method offered at the time of registration.

Registration fees, where applicable, are non-refundable.

Late payments will incur statutory interest. We reserve the right to exclude participants with outstanding balances from ongoing courses.

4.Cancellation and Refund Policy

Cancellations must be submitted in writing (email or letter). The following refund schedule applies:

  • More than 4 weeks before course start: Full refund minus a €50 administrative fee.
  • 2–4 weeks before course start: 50% refund of the course fee.
  • Less than 2 weeks before course start: No refund.

If Medlingua cancels a course, you will receive a full refund or may transfer to an alternative course.

5.Course Changes by Medlingua

Medlingua reserves the right to alter course dates, times, instructors, or locations, provided participants are given timely notice. Courses require a minimum number of participants; if this minimum is not met, Medlingua may cancel the course and offer a full refund or an alternative.

Substitute instructors of equal qualification may replace regular instructors in case of absence.

6.Participant Obligations

Participants are expected to:

  • Attend classes regularly and punctually
  • Treat instructors and fellow students with respect
  • Use course materials exclusively for personal learning purposes
  • Refrain from any behaviour that disrupts the learning environment

We reserve the right to exclude participants who persistently disrupt classes, without refund.

7.Online Courses

Participants in online courses are responsible for ensuring they have adequate equipment and a stable internet connection.

Recording of online sessions is strictly prohibited unless explicitly authorised by Medlingua in writing.

Technical difficulties outside of Medlingua's control do not entitle participants to a refund or compensation.

8.Liability

Medlingua's liability is limited to cases of intentional misconduct and gross negligence.

We do not guarantee exam success or specific learning outcomes. Language learning results depend on individual effort, attendance, and prior knowledge.

Medlingua is not liable for damage to or loss of personal property on our premises or during online sessions.

9.Data Protection

We process your personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable data protection regulations.

10.Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany. The courts of Berlin shall have exclusive jurisdiction for any disputes arising from or in connection with these terms.

11.Severability

If any provision of these terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect. The invalid provision shall be replaced by a valid provision that most closely reflects the intent of the original.
